Still have questions? Check out our FAQ below.

(In no particular order)

Do you rent out your equipment?

No. Multicam.Video is not a rental house. All camera rigs offered are reserved as a single bundle. Each bundle includes Six cameras, whether it's the Flagship (PTZ), Cine (Mirrorless) or Mini Rig (Mini PTZ). Each rig also includes the Control hub rack, for switching, audio, streaming and monitoring. All three rigs use the same Control hub.

Does my reservation include an operator

Yes. I, and likely a second crew member, will  be the individuals delivering, loading, operating and striking the rig at the end of the day. That being said, having one of your personnel operating the switcher and choosing the camera angles is encouraged. We want to involve your crew, who may have a better grasp on when to cut to a different camera. Let's collaborate!

Do I have to pickup the equipment?

No. All equipment is brought to your location, set up in a timely manner, and removed at the end of the day.

I would love to record a performance at a club in Los Angeles, do you provide this service?

Unfortunately not. Multicam.video is a video recording service only for private shows, exclusive events and company brand content capture for marketing and promotion etc. We do not provide video services in public venues. Perhaps someday in the future.

Will Multicam.video Livestream my performance?

Yes and No. We do provide "Private" livestream services. Not scheduled and promoted livestreams. For instance, if your company is working on a project, say a new artist's musical performance, and you have team members that want to watch or are important to the creative process, then yes, we will create a password protected livestream of the day's shoot so they can login and view it. We do not do promoted or scheduled livestreams that are open to the public.

My project doesn't require "switching" cameras in realtime, I just want to record and edit it later, is that ok?

Yes. We can bring only the cameras, and record without any control hub and switchers etc. Audio will be recorded in stereo for each camera providing up to 12 tracks of audio. The  process is clean and simple, we then either give you the SD cards, if you are the owner of the cards, or provide copies of the shoot at days end. We can customize your Rig to meet your needs. Click this link to check our our Cine-Cam Rig, which includes only cameras and a monitor for framing.

Can I bring my own director for my video project?

Yes. In fact, we encourage it. Multicam.video and its crew can offer some help, and collaborate on your creative vision. This is the reason behind us offering "Video Storyboards" before shoot day comes. Click this link to learn more about our Virtual Video  Storyboarding capabilities. But, when on set, we are not there to tell you what you should do, instead, we fill more of a technical director role, making sure equipment is working and services are delivered professionally.  If you have your own creative mind behind achieving the look you want, this is ideal, as we can work together to best meet that video vision.

My project is so small, and I dont' need so many cameras. Will you shoot with just one camera for me?

Yes. Our "Solo - Rig" for content capture is coming soon. Click our "Gear Page" for updates.

Do you shoot it 4K?

All of our project so far have been shot only in Full HD 1080. Smaller file sizes and indistinguishable quality differences to the average viewer  make shooting in 4K not practical for our business model for now. That being said, our mirrorless cameras, The Canon M6ii and Sony RX10ii, shoot in 4K without issue. If your project needs this level of resolution, we are happy to discuss it.

Do you supply video lighting?

Yes. We have a modest collection of lighting rigs, of which four are always included in your reservation. If you need more, please check our Gear page for lighting upgrades.

The room I'm  shooting in, is tiny. Only 12' x 12'. Can you still help me?

Yes. The Capture Rig 6, while powerful, is still compact, and wireless. If six cameras is more than is needed for your project the shooting with 4 cameras is perfectly fine.

Will you edit my video?

Yes and No. We do offer "real-time" editing. Often referred to as a "Line-Cut". Think Monday Night Football, when the action is being captured in realtime. Cameras are being switched creatively by your editor, or at the request of the producer or director. "Go to camera 3!" etc. In addition, our Rigs can also do " Auto-Switching", a new and powerful feature. For instance. Camera 5 is rolling, we can decide how long Camera 5 stays live by pre-programming its duration. So, "Camera 5 for 8 seconds", then switch to "Camera 7 for 4 seconds", then "Camera 1 for 10 seconds", etc. Up to 20 angle changes can be predetermined, and then the cycle will loop.  Switching can also be set to "Random", where the duration is still honored, but the order is completely random.  What we do not offer is, Post-Production editing. That will be up to you to use your

in-house editor or hire and editor. We may be able to recommend an editor at a later date.

When and How will I receive my footage?

It depends.

Scenario #1. We are recording your project with (8) cameras. All footage is being captured on SD cards. If you own these cards, and the filming ends, then we can hand you the cards immediately after shooting. No duplicating, no waiting. You can hand the footage to your editor and he can start working same day. This requires you to purchase your own cards in advance, which we can do for you once funds are forwarded. Prices are around $40 for a 256mb card, and $90 for a

512 mb card, multiplied by however many cameras you want to use for your shoot. You can see a full break down by Clicking on this link to go to our "Media page".  We also record a copy for ourselves for backup, in case your SD cards are lost or corrupted, you have redundancy insurance.

Scenario #2. Buying multiple cards is not in your budget. We record the day's events to our cards, then copy them to an

SSD drive that you purchase ahead of time. This drive is small, lightweight and less expensive than buying multiple cards. The trade-off is that all the days files must be copied to the drive. How long this takes will of course depend on how long the shoot was, and how many cameras are being utilized. More than likely files will be copied to your SSD on the day of the shoot.

In addition to receiving your isolated video files (ISO), you will also receive your "line-cut" which is for all intents and purposes a completed video with all predetermined edits and embedded audio.

Can I add branding, commonly referred to as a "bug" or "watermark"?

Yes, there are many additional possibilities beyond just the live video being captured. A PNG file that you provide of your company logo or name and or brand can be placed on your video as it's captured. Additionally cutting to still photographs or even pre-recorded video is also possible. Say for instance, the project is a person making a company video addressing his or her employees, we can cut to pre-loaded charts, graphs, still photos or video to help convey the message. Of course, this will need to be rehearsed so execution is smooth and professional.

Do you offer any sort of camera motion control?

Yes. Part of creating a great video is having access to alternate perspectives, and movement. Multicam.video provides, Cranes and or Jibs, measuring 12', and 8 ' in length. Couple these with object tracking cameras and you're able to create very compelling classic reveal shot and overhead views of your project. In addition, we offer automated camera sliders, which provide smooth and silent lateral movement, which when paired with our rigs, creates a gorgeous parallax effect. There are a lot of ways to be creative with these motion control options. They can be added on to your Rig reservation on our Reserve page. Currently, there are two cranes, and 6 sliders available.

Do I need to book my video production in advance?

Yes. Multicam.Video would appreciate at least (5) business days notice before shoot day. Gear needs to be prepped, batteries charged and of course all loaded into our vehicle. This lead time will likely improve and be quicker in the future.
