PREVIS (beta)
Previs animated storyboarding is a feature that Multicam.Video is experimenting with. Will it help your project? Let's talk!
Previs—short for previsualization—is the modern evolution of the storyboard. Traditionally used to sketch out scenes before filming, previs now harnesses the power of AI to transform those rough ideas into detailed, photorealistic sequences. From lifelike environments and accurate camera placements to fluid animation, our previs process brings your vision to life before a single shot is captured. This means no more guesswork—just clarity, efficiency, and more time to focus on what really matters: creativity. Explore how this next-gen workflow can elevate your production below.
THE PROJECT:
FIVE PIECE ROCKBAND / CITY STREET PERFORMANCE
In this project, we're working with a straightforward live performance set in the middle of a city street: a five-piece rock band featuring a lead singer, two guitarists, a bassist, and a drummer. By mapping out shots in advance using AI-powered previs, we eliminate uncertainty, improve communication across the crew, and maximize both efficiency and creativity on shoot day.
STEP ONE: CAMERA PLACEMENT
Before the lights go up and the band hits their first note, we start with strategy—camera strategy. In this previs example, we're working with a classic five-piece rock band: lead singer, two guitarists, a bassist, and a drummer. To capture every angle, every emotion, and every solo, we've designed an 8-camera layout that balances wide coverage with intimate close-ups.
Picture this:
-
Camera 1 Full band, cropped in, low camera
-
Camera 2 Full band, wide angle, high crane, establish location.
-
Camera 3: Lead Vocalist, tight shot, slow reveal
-
Camera 4: Full band, side view, cropped in
-
Camera 5: Guitar player, tight crop
-
Camera 6: Drummer, side view, tight crop
-
Camera 7: Full band, rear view, wide angle
-
Camera 8: Full band, tight crop with depth, low camera
This camera map becomes the foundation for everything that follows. With AI-driven previs, we don’t just imagine these shots—we see them in real-time 3D. Dive into the layout below to watch how the performance comes to life, frame by frame.
